About

Patrick was born in Drogheda, Co Louth in 1959. He attended the Lee Strasbourg School of Acting in New York, before returning to London and then to Ireland in 1990. He lives and works in County Monaghan as an artist, poet and writer, with his wife, also an artist https://siobhanconyngham.com and painting conservator.

His novel ‘Between the Hills was published in 2006 by Tuba Press ( www.tubapress.eu , tubapoetry@icloud.com, Twitter: TubaPressman ) who also published various books of poetry and short stories by him.

As a self taught artist he has exhibited widely and the paintings are in public and private collections in Ireland, England, America and Europe.

He is a member of the North Louth Artists, a group founded by the well known Irish artist Nano Reid and Bea Orpen in 1968 http://northlouthartists.com/work/patrick-conyngham/. He is also a member of Visual Artists Ireland http://www.visualartists.ie .

Events and collaborations

Táthú Coalescence, Culture Night 2021, a sound and visual collaboration between Iontas Arts Centre,( Castleblayney, Co Monaghan )and six creative practitioners lead by Jamie Bishop (BISHOPSKI), Iontas Musician in Residence 2021.

The musicians included Jamie Bishop (composer/producer/piano), Caoimhe Hopkinson (guitar/fiddle) Darren Brannigan (drums) Daniel Aherne (bass).
